The administrator of this website would like to thank the Leaders and Membership of JPUN for their seemingly tireless effort to earn a successful outcome.

Big thanks go out to the 14 other Registered Neighborhood Organizations involved in expanding awareness and adding strength to the clearly overwhelming position of informed citizens.

Big thanks to State Representative Crisanta Duran and City Councilwoman Susan Shepherd for listening to the concerns from early on, learning from both sides, providing appropriate direction, and ultimately taking a position that supported the majority of constituents.

Big thanks to Councilwoman Montero, who's aide lead-off the public hearing with the Councilwoman's strong message.

Thank you to Councilwoman Robb, whose support clearly illustrated that this was not a NIMBY issue, but a matter that would impact a much larger group of citizens.

Thank you to Planning Board for taking considerable time to review opposing documentation, listen to testimony, and thoughtfully deliberate, to ultimately find the case that was made by the opposition sufficient to counter the Community and Planning Department's recommendation to approve. This decision shows that the independence of the Planning Board, works exactly as intended.

Last but not least, thank you to those that came out to testify or lend support at the public hearing. Thanks to the small army of people that it took to handle the numerous facets of this opposition, be it communication, research, outreach, or technical knowledge, it really took a village, and thankfully we stumbled upon a lot of very astute individuals that were crucial to obtaining a successful outcome. Unbelievable.

While it's difficult to understand why something so obviously objectionable is difficult and resource consuming to stop, it's amazing to see such a thorough and competent effort come together so quickly.

We won!
